Canned Tomato Sauce

Tom’s tomato sauce is awesome.

It is so good, you could drink it from a glass and want more.

He made an enormous batch upon the promise I would can it today.

I did.

It was easy.

If I could do it, anyone can.

(“Can.” Get it?) ;)

  1. *You* are awesome! And I might re-think canning at some point now that you’ve brought to mind the possibility of doing it in December rather than the summer! I loved canning days as a child, but it was alway so hot.

  2. Rae,

In Japan, we mostly had root veggies and a few imported fruits in the winter. The cool thing about being in the US is that a variety of fruits and vegetables are available all year! Hitting the sales lets you get just about as good of prices as you’d find during local harvest. Preserving them allows you to continue to enjoy them at the sale price :)

Sarah Gilbert introduced me to http://www.foodinjars.com/ — very inspiring!

Looking forward to hearing about what you preserve by canning!
